Australian Capital Territory legalises personal cannabis growing and consumption 30.10.2019
On 25 September 2019, the Legislative Assembly of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) approved a law permitting personal cultivation, possession and use of cannabis for recreational purposes. The background note to the act describes the objective as a ‘harm minimisation approach’, stating that ‘the outright prohibition model of drug policy is not working’.

Upcoming ISCTE-IUL–EMCDDA summer school: 29 June–10 July 2020 14.10.2019
The University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and the EU drugs agency (EMCDDA) will be joining forces once again next summer to hold the ninth European drugs summer school (EDSS) on ‘Illicit drugs in Europe: demand, supply and public policies’ (1). Registration is now open for the two-week course, which will take place in the Portuguese capital from 29 June to 10 July (2).
