The Czech Republic joints the 66th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)

The 66 CND takes place 13-17 March 2023 in Vienna. On that occasion the Czech Republic prepared a position document, Conference Room Paper named: "Opportunities and Challenges for the Engagement of Civil Society in Human Rights Oriented Drug Policies". The Czech Republic also organize a side event on 15 March.
Every year the Czech Republic joins various international events. One of them is the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), which is held once a year in Vienna, 13.-17/03/2023.
CND meeting is one of the biggest drug policy event worldwide. During this meeting, resolutions are negotiated and approved, controlled substance scheduled and also CND members are elected.
On this occasion, the Czech Republic has prepared a non-discussion position paper, the so-called Conference Room Paper Opportunities and Challenges for the Engagement of Civil Society in Human Rights Oriented Drug Policies, which focus on the human rights approach to drug policies promoted during CZ PRES 2023. The document supports, among others, the active involvement of civil society in drug policies, decriminalization and also presents the Czech context of the human rights approach to drug policies including civil society participation.
