T2010, the tri-annual meeting of the International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety
The scientific program will start with two workshops on Sunday August 22, 2010.
• These are: “Recent Trends in Alcohol and Other Drug Involvement by Drivers Killed in Crashes” chaired by Dr Jim Fell.
• “Drug Analysis in Alternative Matrices” chaired by Dr Alain Verstraete.
The formal opening ceremony is scheduled on Monday August 23, 2010. A Series of five daily plenary presentations will open the conference each morning from Monday through with following the topics:
• “Risk Factors in Car Crashes: Car road or drivers?” Dr Joel Valmain.
• “Emerging Passive Alcohol Ignition Interlock Technology” Dr Susan Ferguson
• “Acute Disinhibiting Effects of Alcohol as a Factor in Risky Driving Behavior. Dr Mark Fillmore.
• “Non-Alcohol Drugs and Driving” Dr Jørg Mørland
• “Social Control of the Drinking Driver” Dr Mary Sheehan.
The program on Monday August 23, will also include two workshops:
• “DRUID-I: Epidemiology” chaired by Dr Inger Marie Bernhoft
• “Driving Simulators for Alcohol and Drug Impairment Research” chaired by Dr Joris Verster.
On Wednesday, two additional workshops are scheduled:
• “DRUID II: Experimental Studies” chaired by Dr Jan Ramaekers
• “Use of Alcohol Biomarkers to Estimate risk of DUI Drivers” chaired by Dr Paul Marques and Dr Christine Moore.
