36th Annual Conference ESSD: 1st – 3rd October 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic
The 36th ESSD conference in Prague is hosted by the National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Addiction (Drug Policy Department, Office of the Government of the Czech Republic) and the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention. The conference will take place in Prague on 1-3 October 2025. The venue is located at Lichtenstein Palace (Lichtenštějnský palác), U Sovových mlýnů 506/4, 118 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic.
The European Society for Social Drug Research (ESSD) was founded in 1990 as an association of European social scientists working on drug issues. It is an internationally recognised and established society whose principal aims are to promote social science approaches to drug research.
The ESSD holds an annual conference. In 2025, the conference will be held in the Czech Republic for the first time in history. ESSD annual conference provides scope for collaboration and cooperation among researchers across Europe working in the drugs field. The conference does not include parallel lectures or workshops, and the programme is designed to offer ample space for expert discussion and exchange of views.
