The Educational Center for the Prevention of Drug Abuse and the Promotion of Health (UMHRI – ΟΚΑΝΑ) organizes a five-day event in order to present the audiovisual material of various European and Hellenic organizations related to the prevention of drug addiction. The event will take place at the «Hellenic Cosmos, Foundation of the Hellenic World (F.H.W. 254 Pireos Street, 177 78 Tavros, Athens) and the entrance will be free for the public. The purpose of the aforementioned event is: • To demonstrate and promote the usefulness of audiovisual technology in the field of prevention. • To introduce audiovisual educational material already used in Europe to professionals in the field of drug prevention, as well as, other areas of addictions. • To point out and elaborate messages concerning drug use, the addict and his/her environment and how these messages are represented in films, expressing current social trends and attitudes regarding the issue of addiction. The event will include the following: - Eight (8) films having as a central theme drug use and abuse. - One (1) theatrical play (play back theater Ψ) - Eighty (80) educational videos - Twenty five (25) European interactive drug prevention and therapy websites. - Exhibition of posters, flyers, educational material from various European and Greek organizations of the last 5 years. - Exhibition of paintings from addicts who are currently in therapeutic programs. - Open forum tables, discussions and work groups.
