Health and social responses to drug-related infectious diseases are explored today in a new EMCDDA miniguide, released to mark World AIDS Day. The resource is the eighth in a series of miniguides, making up the agency’s latest overview of actions and interventions to respond to the consequences of illicit drug use.

On 4 October 2021 the equalities minister in Malta presented a bill to change laws on cannabis. This follows the government’s election manifesto of 2017, which pledged to launch a debate on recreational cannabis, and a white paper, published in March 2021, that reflected the ‘government’s vision for a fairer legal system for responsible cannabis users’.

Today, the nine European Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) agencies came together to wrap up the activities of the network in 2021 and present its key achievements. The event also gathered high-level representatives from the European Commission, European Parliament, European External Action Service, the General Secretariat of the Council, as well as the current Slovenian Presidency of the Council and the upcoming French Presidency.
